刚到美国时，其实超怕打电话和接电话的，一来是我道行太浅，每次打电话遇到的客服都是印度哥哥或印度姐姐，怪腔怪调实在是听不懂啊！二来是我这个人比较纠结，开口说英文前一定要去google一下正确用法深怕自己被嘲笑英文不好。
开始在律所上班以后，再怎么纠结都得硬着头皮上啦！很庆幸我的雇主虽然是华人，但因为从小移民到美国，所以中文反而不太好，工作的同时也可以从他身上学到一些很口语但教科书上从没教过的英文。
今天来跟大家分享一下一些很基础的电话用语。
（一）接电话时
若是工作上必须接电话，首先会先简单介绍公司名和自己是谁，再询问对方有什么需要帮忙的。 Hi, this is Joey for Law offices of XXX, what can I help you today?(How may I help you today?)
不知道来电者是谁的情况，可以礼貌的询问对方，“请问您是？/ 能否告知您的姓名” Who am I speaking with? May I ask who’s calling?(Who's calling?) Could I have your name, please? |
（二）接电话时，对方表明了就是要找你
对方：May I speak to Joey, Please? （请让我跟Joey通话） 我可以回他： Hi, this is Joey, speaking. （我是Joey，您请说） Speaking. 请说。
注意电话用语中，报上名字的时候不要用“I am”或“My name is”，要用“This is” （X）Hi, I am Joey, speaking. （X）Hello, My name is Joey, speaking. （O）This is Joey, speaking. |
（三）接电话时，对方要找的人不在
1. 可以选择说明情况，请注意在开头礼貌的加上“I’m afraid (that)”或“I’m sorry” I’m afraid (that) Joey is out off the office (not in the office) this morning. （抱歉Joey今天早上不会在公司） I’m afraid (that) Joey is not available now. （抱歉Joey现在有事在忙） I’m afraid (that) her line is engaged/busy. （抱歉Joey现在正在通话中） I’m sorry, Joey is off sick today. （抱歉Joey今天请了病假） I’m sorry, Joey is in the meeting. （抱歉Joey现在正在开会） I’m sorry, Joey is on holiday today. （抱歉Joey今天休假） When she’s back, I’ll ask her to call you back. （等她回来，我会请她回电话给您）
2. 也可以选择问对方是否需要留讯息 Would you like to leave a message? （您需要留言吗？） |
（四）打电话时
1. 确定自己要找的人是谁的时候： Can(May) I speak to Joey, please? （请让我跟Joey通话） Is Joey there, please? （请问Joey在吗？） 2. 不确定自己找的人是谁的时候： Hi, this is Joey for Law Offices of XXX,I am calling regarding 打电话的原因。 像是我们打电话去法院问客户案子的进度时，就会说I am calling regarding the case number xxxxxx. Hi, this is Joey for Law Offices of XXX,I am calling to 打电话的原因。 像是我们打电话跟对方律师约过户时间时，就会说I am calling to schedule the closing. |
（五）我要找的人不在办公室，想请对方帮忙捎个信
Could you take a message? （我留个言您帮我记下好吗？） Could(Can) you ask her to call me back? （麻烦请她给我回个电话） Could(Can) you ask him to return my call? （麻烦请他给我回个电话） |
（六）我漏接了电话，回拨时要说
Hi, this is Joey, returning the phone call. （我是Joey，刚漏接了您的电话，现在回拨给您） May I ask who’s calling? （请问您是？） |
（七）通话时，听不见对方说什么
Excuse me? / Pardon? / Could you repeat what you just said? （都是请对方再说一次的意思） I’m sorry, could you speak up, please? （很抱歉你能说话大声点吗？） I’m sorry, I can’t hear you very well. （很抱歉我听不清楚您说什么） I’m sorry, I didn’t get that. （很抱歉我没有听到） I’m sorry, my cell phone has bad reception. / I can't get the cell phone reception. / There is no signal. / I got signal problems. （很抱歉我手机讯号不太好） |
（八）通话时，听不懂对方意思
I’m sorry, could you repeat that again? / Could (Can) you say it again? （很抱歉，您可以再说一遍吗？） I’m sorry, I didn’t catch that. / I didn’t get that. / I didn’t follow you. （很抱歉，我不懂您的意思） I’m sorry, I’m not sure I understand. （很抱歉，我不确定我听懂了没） Would you mind explaining it again? （您介意再解释一次吗？） If I understand correctly, do you mean...? （如果我理解的正确的话，您的意思是...吗？） When you say..., do you mean...? （当你说...时，您的意思是...吗？） |
